Essential Performance Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized support based on identified needs of individual teachers.
  • Foster the growth and development of teachers through differentiated supports.
  • Offer strategic content-focused mentoring to teachers.
  • Support teachers in developing skills related to establishing a positive classroom culture and climate.
  • Implement instructional strategies and analyze student work.
  • Differentiate instruction and support English Language learners and students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, build skills, analyze data, examine needs related to professional practice, and engage in peer coaching.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an educational field or mathematics.
  • A valid Florida Teacher's Certificate in Elementary Education and/or Secondary Mathematics.
  • At least five (5) years of related teaching experience in subject area and/or level within the last eight (8) years.
  • Complete Broward County Public Schools' Instructional Coach Development and Credentialing Program within two (2) years of assignment.
  • Progressively more responsible professional educational experience with at least two (2) years of experience in teacher leadership roles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills relevant to instructional practice and working with teachers.
  • Skilled in the use of coaching language.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a trustworthy and confidential relationship with adults.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Significant experience in teacher leadership roles.
  • Experience with technology integration in the classroom.
  • Experience with formative assessment and data-driven decision making.
  • Experience with culturally responsive teaching practices.

  • Other coaches for collaboration and peer learning.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel between schools as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials as necessary.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Terms of Employment

  • Exempt classification.
  • New hire teacher salary information available upon request.
  • Classroom monitor hourly rate information available upon request.
