About the role
A Long-Term Substitute is responsible for teaching appropriate grade level standard-based curriculum to students, following school/district approved curriculum while the classroom teacher is absent for an extended period of time. This position is covering for a Spanish Resource Classroom, Kindergarten - 8th Grade. This is a temporary position with an expected end date of October 13, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
- Maintains order and monitors, supervises, coordinates, and enforces rule of conduct and behavior of assigned students and reinforces positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy.
- Observes, evaluates, reports, and records students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
- Presents subject matter to students, using various teaching methods and technology, adjusting teaching style and method to meet student learning style.
- Prepares educational course outlines, objectives, and materials according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
- Prepares student, attendance and activity reports as required by administrators.
- Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems and coordinates instructional efforts.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
- Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
Qualifications
- Spanish speaking skills highly preferred.
- Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
- The ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.

Benefits
