About the Role

The Interventionist provides targeted academic support to students in ELA and/or Math across grade levels, leads data-driven instruction, and contributes to the school's Response to Intervention (RTII) and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) processes. This role involves analyzing student performance data, collaborating with teachers and staff, and implementing effective interventions to drive student growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily, small-group intervention sessions in ELA and/or Math for assigned grade level bands.
  • Support classroom teachers in addressing foundational skills gaps through differentiated instruction and targeted interventions.
  • Utilize student data to inform instructional groupings, pacing, and intervention strategies, adjusting as needed based on progress.
  • Lead data meetings with grade-level teams every six weeks to analyze student progress and develop action plans.
  • Prepare clear, concise data presentations for administration and staff, ensuring alignment with school goals.
  • Maintain organized and accessible school data, including assessment results and intervention progress.
  • Actively participate in RTII and MTSS processes, including timely identification of students needing additional support.
  • Coordinate and/or lead grade-level RTII team meetings to discuss student progress and intervention adjustments.
  • Accurately enter RTII data into Frontline and maintain up-to-date records of interventions and outcomes.
  • Meet deadlines for RTII documentation and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and administration to support student success and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Assist with additional school needs as they arise, such as school events, lunch duty, or other assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintain punctuality and reliability, working toward a 97% staff attendance goal.
  • Serve on additional committees as needed to support the school's mission.

Requirements

  • Certification required.
  • Strong understanding of ELA/Math content, intervention strategies, and assessment tools.
  • Experience with RTII, MTSS, and data-driven instructional practices.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse school stakeholders.
  • Punctual, dependable, and flexible in meeting school community needs.

Work Environment

The Interventionist will primarily work in a dedicated classroom, within other classrooms, and in small-group settings. Responsibilities also include participation in school data meetings and occasional school-wide events or additional duties as requested by administration.

Pay

Salary range: $61,788 - $94,614, in accordance with the Lawrence Teachers' Union Contract.

Schedule

Full-time position, 183 days per school year.
