Teacher- Infant

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Teacher to join our team. This is a full-time opportunity with typical hours of 35 to 37 hours per week. Eligibility for benefits begins at 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Working alongside Teacher Assistants to create a safe, healthy, structured, and nurturing environment.
• Engaging with children in learning activities such as reading, playing, and having fun.
• Inspiring children to become lifelong learners.
• Partnering with families to nurture and care for their children.
• Showcasing tech savvy skills by using an electronic daily tracking app.
• Aiding in the accreditation process and other quality initiatives.
• Oversight, development, implementation, and coordination of curriculum and assessments.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience working with children in this age group.
• Warm and friendly personal demeanor.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Organized and able to prioritize tasks.
• Team-oriented and willing to collaborate with others.
• Management and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• College credits, Associate’s degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• High school diploma (or equivalent) with college credits in Early Childhood Education or related field required.
• Knowledge of Teaching Strategies and/or Conscious Discipline preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards (RIELDS) certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting).
• Visual and hearing acuity.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Other Qualifications

• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must pass national criminal background/fingerprint check.
• Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).

Pay

$17-$23 an hour based on education.
