About the role
We are seeking a Lead Teacher to join our team. This is a full-time opportunity with typical hours of 35 to 37 hours per week. Eligibility for benefits begins at 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Working alongside Teacher Assistants to create a safe, healthy, structured, and nurturing environment.
- Engaging with children in learning activities such as reading, playing, and having fun.
- Inspiring children to become lifelong learners.
- Partnering with families to nurture and care for their children.
- Showcasing tech savvy skills by using an electronic daily tracking app.
- Aiding in the accreditation process and other quality initiatives.
- Oversight, development, implementation, and coordination of curriculum and assessments.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience working with children in this age group.
- Warm and friendly personal demeanor.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Organized and able to prioritize tasks.
- Team-oriented and willing to collaborate with others.
- Management and leadership skills.
Qualifications
- College credits, Associate’s degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- High school diploma (or equivalent) with college credits in Early Childhood Education or related field required.
- Knowledge of Teaching Strategies and/or Conscious Discipline preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards (RIELDS) certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting).
- Visual and hearing acuity.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Other Qualifications
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must pass national criminal background/fingerprint check.
- Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).
Pay
$17-$23 an hour based on education.
