About the role
To teach by implementing a flexible program and creating an environment favorable to learning and personal growth by: encouraging students to develop skills, attitudes, and the knowledge needed to obtain a good foundation for continuous growth and development; providing students with experiences which integrate the effective, cognitive, and psychomotor dimensions of learning; establishing effective rapport with students and their parents; and assisting students in developing positive feelings toward themselves and others.
Responsibilities
- Teach English to high school students
- Create a supportive learning environment
- Work effectively with administrators, staff, students, and parents
- Provide experiences integrating cognitive, psychomotor, and effective dimensions of learning
- Establish rapport with students and parents
- Aid students in developing positive self-esteem and interpersonal relationships
Requirements
- Current New Mexico Educator's License
- Ability to work effectively with administrators, staff, students, and parents
- Ability to perform essential job functions and job task requirements
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in education or related field
- Experience: Teaching experience preferred
Skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to establish rapport with students and parents
- Knowledge of pedagogical methods
Benefits
- Nine months (185 days) per contract year
- Placement on the District Certified Teacher Salary Schedule

- Salary: Commensurate with experience
