About the role
The successful candidate will design and implement appropriate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, analyze learning styles, and coordinate behavioral support and communication systems. They will also maintain a safe environment, collect data, and ensure confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement IEPs based on MSSD curriculum and transition goals.
- Analyze student learning styles and adapt teaching strategies.
- Select appropriate activities, materials, and equipment for teaching.
- Integrate related services into the daily instructional program.
- Conduct IEP team and special education meetings.
- Create and implement behavioral support and intervention plans.
- Create and implement communication systems for students.
- Develop and follow a daily schedule for students' IEPs.
- Direct daily activities of teacher aides and classroom volunteers.
- Follow special health care procedures for students.
- Maintain a safe environment for students.
- Maintain confidentiality of student, parent, and staff information.
- Follow MSSD policies and guidelines.
- Complete required reports on or before established deadlines.
- Collect and analyze data to improve student learning.
- Carry out daily self-care needs of students as needed.
Requirements
A Missouri Teaching Certificate or eligibility for temporary or provisional certification is required. Experience with individuals with disabilities is preferred. A professional license is required pursuant to state law.
Qualifications and Experience

Pay
$52,488 - $65,016 per year, with potential for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials.
