TEACHER - GRADE 2 - SY 26-27

Position Summary

The Leahy Elementary School is seeking a Grade 2 teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate possesses a belief that all students are capable of learning. Experience with co-teaching and inclusion practices, including collaborative planning, are recommended.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Teaching core content classes in a self-contained classroom/homeroom: ELA(CKLA), Mathematics(Eureka), Science, and Social Studies
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Educational technology proficiency
• Cultural competency and commitment to serving a diverse student population
• Collaborative working with colleagues, families, and support staff
• Participation in IEP, 504, student support, and team meetings
• Grade-level and content vertical planning meetings
• Participation in Warrior S.T.R.O.N.G. schoolwide positive behavior support protocols

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Experience in collaborating with social service agencies
• Strong facilitation and communication skills
• Proficiency in English
• Bilingual candidates preferred

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• Valid Massachusetts DESE Early Childhood (PreK-2) teaching license SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) endorsement required
• Experience teaching in urban public school settings preferred
• Successful completion of all pre-employment requirements
• U.S. citizenship, residency, or valid work authorization required
