The San Juan Unified School District is seeking a full-time teacher at Dewey Elementary School.
About the role
This position is permanent and open for applications. Candidates must be internal employees to be placed on Column 5; for external candidates, the maximum placement is Column 4/Step 11.
Responsibilities
- Teach core academic subjects to students in grades K-8
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with district curriculum
- Maintain classroom management and student behavior
- Participate in professional development and staff meetings
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff
- Assess student progress and provide feedback
Requirements
- Valid California teaching credential
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field
- Experience working with students in grades K-8
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in education or related field preferred
- Experience with special education students
- Experience with counseling, social work, or teacher librarian roles
Skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices

Length Of Work Year: Teacher (Elementary / Secondary), Middle School & K-8 Counselor / Teacher Librarian Calendar 2 (10 Months/Year, 186 Days/Year, 5 Days/Week, Professional Work Day)
