About the Role

This position is responsible for classroom teaching functions, providing instruction attentive to students' academic, social, and emotional needs. Note: Employment is contingent on the availability and continuation of external funding or contracts.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily subject matter instruction tailored to group and individual student needs.
• Maintain records for attendance, student files, referrals, progress reports, lesson plans, and curriculum development.
• Attend and participate in departmental/division meetings, planning projects, and school-related evening/weekend programs.
• Manage arrangement and storage of classroom materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensure safety by observing, reporting, and addressing hazards in the building and grounds.
• Prepare daily and weekly lesson plans aligned with the school’s philosophy, including team or grade-level planning.
• Establish and maintain a positive learning environment reflecting the school’s philosophy.
• Refer students as needed following school procedures and communicate regularly with parents and staff.
• Follow curriculum guidelines, including remediation, development, and enrichment of computer-based learning.
• Integrate technology into teaching and learning processes.
• Maintain discipline and foster students' self-discipline and responsibility.
• Establish a systematic classroom code of conduct.
• Participate in supervisory duties for arrival/dismissal, playground, and lunchroom as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (major in field or 12 credits in field required).
• Valid State of Florida Certification Certificate (preferred).
• Master’s degree (preferred).
• One year of successful teaching experience (preferred).
