Teacher Fellow School Year 26-27
Responsibilities
- Driven by our mission to ensure every child succeeds, the founding teaching fellows will be responsible for ensuring all students are provided with the academic and character skills to firmly position them on the path to college.
- Work alongside classroom teachers and develop skills in preparation to take lead classroom positions.
- Assist the lead teacher with preparing and delivering daily instructional activities.
- Work with small groups of students to reinforce skills and support academic progress.
- Maintain a productive learning environment by encouraging positive behavior and consistent routines.
- Use assessment information to understand student needs and support intervention or enrichment as appropriate.
- Support a safe and orderly classroom by following school procedures and taking appropriate precautions.
- Uphold school expectations for student conduct and assist with implementing campus-wide policies.
- Maintain fairness and consistency when addressing student behavior.
- Communicate with students and families to address questions or concerns that may arise outside of the school day.
- Establish positive relationships with parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Participate in outreach efforts that strengthen school-community connections.
- Engage fully in professional development sessions and team meetings.
- Continue building professional skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
- Collaborate with staff committees and contribute to school initiatives.
- Maintain organized records and support classroom and school operations as needed.
- Perform other responsibilities assigned to support classroom instruction, school culture, and overall student success.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, required
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience working with under-resourced communities, families, and/or students
Proven written and verbal communication skills with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district
A successful background check in compliance with state law, required
