Sigsbee Elementary/Middle Charter School is located at 939 Felton Rd, Key West, FL 33040. This public charter school in Monroe County School District does not participate in Florida Retirement. It pays its own employees and has its own benefits.

Responsibilities

• Teach students in grades Kindergarten to 8th grade.
• Implement educational plans aligned with Sigsbee's curriculum.
• Provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of exceptional students.
• Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and administrators.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to enhance teaching methods and student outcomes.
• Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in special education.

Requirements

• Florida certification in Exceptional Student Education (grades K-12).
• Out-of-state certification for those holding an unexpired professional educator certificate from another state.
• A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (Special Education, Mild and Moderate Needs, etc.) or passing the FTCE Subject Area Exam in ESE K-12.
• Experience working with exceptional students preferred but not required.

Pay

Base Salary ranges from $62,100 to $102,300, commensurate with experience. Detailed compensation information for newly hired teachers is available in our Initial Instructional Salary Level Placement Guide 2024-2025.

Schedule

The school year runs from August 4, 2025, to June 30, 2026. The teacher will start on August 4, 2025.
