Teacher - ESE -Intervention Representative
Job Summary
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students. Uses a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Implements, by instruction and action, the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
- Autism, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, EBD, Gifted, PLA, SLA, Physically Impaired, VE and PreK-Handicapped: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; salary based on verified years of teaching experience; must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area.
- ESE Certified Behavior Analyst: Three (3) years successful teaching or work experience with students on the autism spectrum and/or students with behaviorally complex needs; board certification as a Behavior Analyst and Florida Department of Education teaching certification in at least one (1) area of Exceptional Student Education, Guidance and Counseling or School Psychology.
- ESE Intervention Representative: Five (5) years successful classroom teaching experience in exceptional student education or a combination of exceptional/regular education teaching experience; background in behavior management techniques is strongly recommended; Florida Department of Education certification in at least one (1) area of Exceptional Student Education, Administration/Supervision or Educational Leadership.
- ESE Lead: Three (3) years experience working with students with disabilities; must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area.
- ESE Site Coach: Three (3) years experience working with students with Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities/Autism; certification in at least one area of exceptional student education (for Autism positions, Autism certification or endorsement required) and one area of a core content area or K-6 Certification.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: None required.
- Certifications & Licenses: Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area.
Starting Salary
$48,700. Additional Referendum money is available for the next two years starting at $7,730 for the 26-27 school year; teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement amount based on the date of hire.
