About the role

Sigsbee Charter School, located in Key West, Florida, is seeking an experienced Middle School English Language Arts teacher to join their dedicated team.

Responsibilities

• Teach Middle School English Language Arts curriculum
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards
• Assess student progress and provide feedback
• Instruct students on reading comprehension, writing skills, grammar, and literature analysis
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methods and support student learning
• Maintain classroom discipline and ensure a safe learning environment

Requirements

• One of the following educator certification options: English (Grades 6-12) OR Middle Grades English (Grades 5-9)
• Florida certification preferred, but out-of-state certification with Florida reciprocity is also considered
• A bachelor's degree or higher in English, Literature (English), Creative Writing, or Language Arts, or a related field
• Pass the FTCE Subject Area Exam in English 6-12 if not certified in Florida
