TEACHER, ELEMENTARY, 3RD GRADE
About the role
Teaches appropriate grade level standards based curriculum in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies and Personal Development to diverse elementary students, following District Literacy Program and Everyday Math or other school/District approved curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
- Makes sure students follow the rules and behave appropriately.
- Monitors and reports on students' progress, behavior, social development, and health.
- Puts together lesson plans and uses different teaching methods.
- Teaches individual students and groups, using lectures, technology, and discussions.
- Plans lessons, gives tests, and grades assignments to see how students are doing.
- Communicates with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators about student issues.
- May help with extra activities like coaching, tutoring, or summer programs.
Requirements
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
- A Master's Degree is needed for Concurrent Enrollment positions.
- Has a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
- Eligible for the Spanish Language Proficiency (SLP) exam, proctored by Berlitz Testing, or has a score of 163 or higher on the Praxis II - Spanish: World Language 5195 exam.
- Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Works with a permanent home address in Colorado.
- Can meet the physical demands of the position.

Pay
Salary listed reflects the 2025–2026 school year. Salaries for the 2026–2027 school year are typically finalized and released mid-summer, with an effective date of August 1. For updates, refer to the Compensation page.
