About the role
The successful candidate will design and implement appropriate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, analyze learning styles, and coordinate behavioral support and communication systems. They will also maintain a safe environment and ensure confidentiality of student and staff information.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement IEPs based on MSSD curriculum and transition goals.
- Analyze student learning styles and adapt teaching strategies.
- Select appropriate activities, materials, and equipment for teaching.
- Integrate related services into the daily instructional program.
- Conduct IEP team and special education meetings.
- Develop and implement behavioral support and intervention plans.
- Coordinate communication systems for students.
- Follow a time-efficient daily schedule for students' IEPs.
- Direct daily activities of teacher aides and classroom volunteers.
- Follow special health care procedures for students.
- Maintain a safe environment for students.
- Complete required reports and professional development plans.
- Collect and analyze data to improve student learning.
- Carry out daily self-care needs of students as needed.
Requirements
- Missouri Teaching Certificate or eligibility for temporary or provisional certification.
- Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- A professional license pursuant to state law.
Qualifications
- Professional license pursuant to state law.
Skills
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.

Pay
$52,488 - $65,016 base salary, with potential for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials.
