About the role
Develops and leads classroom activities and developmentally appropriate programs.
Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with management and other teachers to assess learning/performance needs and to develop age appropriate learning solutions.
- Develops teaching schedule and selects or develops curriculum aids as appropriate.
- Updates curricula with new materials and content as appropriate.
- Makes sure children's progress is monitored using assigned resources.
- Conducts evaluations and analyzes results.
- Supervises children to ensure safety.
- Makes sure the classroom meets local licensing standards.
- Attends periodical staff meetings.
- Fulfills national accreditation and licensing policies and practices.
- Applies knowledge of learning principles to develop age appropriate classroom programs and content.
Qualifications
- DCF 45-hour Certification (DCF CERT)
- CPR Certification American Heart (CPR AHA)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Child Development Associates OR Florida Child Care Professional Credential (must renew upon expiration)
- Higher Level Degree in General Studies with educational courses.
