About the role
The successful candidate will design and implement appropriate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, analyze learning styles, and coordinate behavioral support and communication systems. They will also maintain a safe environment, collect data, and ensure confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement IEPs
- Analyze student learning styles
- Select appropriate activities, materials, and equipment
- Integrate related services into the instructional program
- Conduct IEP team and special education meetings
- Coordinate behavioral support and intervention plans
- Develop and implement communication systems
- Direct daily activities of teacher aides and volunteers
- Maintain a safe environment
- Complete required reports and professional development plans
- Collect and analyze data to improve student learning
- Assist with daily self-care needs of students
Requirements
Must maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification as specified by MSSD. Other qualifications include a Missouri Teaching Certificate or eligibility for temporary or provisional certification, experience with individuals with disabilities, and a professional license pursuant to state law.
Qualifications
Must have a Missouri Teaching Certificate or be eligible for temporary or provisional certification. Experience with individuals with disabilities is preferred. A professional license is required.
Skills
Knowledge of MSSD curriculum, ability to adapt teaching strategies, proficiency in related services integration, and skills in behavior management and communication systems are essential.

Pay
$52,488 - $65,016 annually, with potential for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials.
