About the role

Aids the classroom team in creating a safe, healthy, and high-quality learning environment that supports the holistic development of young children. Adheres to CPCD policies, Head Start Performance Standards, Colorado Department of Human Services licensing requirements, and the Colorado Quality Standards for Early Childhood Education Services.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate balanced group and individualized learning experiences to enhance school readiness skills as outlined in CPCD's School Readiness Action Plan.
  • Travel among classrooms/sites as directed by the CD Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and relevant experience.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Early Childhood Professional Credential Level II (PDIS).
  • Access to reliable transportation and ability to lift/carry/manipulate up to 40 pounds.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check.

Qualifications

  • Age-appropriate CDA or Level II credential preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language relevant to the community served) preferred.
  • Colorado Department of Human Services Director Qualification (DQ) and 12 credit hours in ECE preferred.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.

Pay

  • Step 1: $17.59/hr.
  • Step 2: $19.30/hr.
  • Step 3: $20.28/hr.
  • Step 4: $21.28/hr.
  • Step 5: $22.34/hr.

Schedule

Varies based on classroom needs and site requirements.
