Teacher Assistant (Exceptional Education) / Southside Early Childood Center

About the role

190-day position for the 2026–2027 school year.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom teaching assistance
• Provide supervision of students at all times
• Maintain a positive classroom environment
• Provide students with daily care (e.g., toileting, diapering, feeding, etc.) as needed or required
• Adhere to district dress code policies
• Maintain required confidentiality in regard to students and school records
• Positively support all facets of student growth and development
• Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty pounds
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of sixty (60) academic credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education
• OR an associate degree (or higher)
• OR a high school diploma or the equivalent AND Ready to Work Credentials WIN (minimum of Level 3 certification) or ParaPro (minimum passing score of 456)

Qualifications

• Classified Employment Application
• Three (3) Classified Employment References (included in application and will be emailed to references)
• Copy of qualifying credentials (college degree/transcript showing sixty or more credit hours OR high school diploma/equivalent AND WIN or ParaPro)

Additional requirements

A negative TB test result must be on file prior to starting work.
