Teacher Assistant - Amherst

Pay

$22.66/hour

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• 37.5 hrs./week

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction and fulfillment of IEP mandates
• Implement established behavior plan(s)
• Ability to assume teacher responsibilities as needed
• Assist teacher to implement and monitor individual lesson plans, data collection, and charting systems
• Assist in conducting classroom activities that enhance opportunity to develop skills in areas of need
• Assist with routine classroom functions
• Assist with home-school communication
• Assist with all required paperwork to be completed
• Ability to travel to satellite locations upon request

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience working in a classroom/educational setting
• One year of experience working with children

Qualifications

• New York State Teaching Assistant Certificate or New York State Teaching Certificate (if you do not currently possess the certificate, you must obtain it within six months of hire)
