Responsibilities

• Participation in educational activities - note taking, reading, supervision
• Supervision of students not assigned to class (cafeteria, library)
• Record keeping of student activities/observations
• Supervision of detention/in-school suspension
• Use of technology - copy machine, computers

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma
• Four (4) years of experience and knowledge in a particular field where specialized duties are involved
• An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B)

• Ability to gain and hold the confidence of and to maintain a patient and understanding attitude towards school children
• Ability to maintain order in classrooms and to enforce school regulations with firmness

Reports to

All work is performed under the direct supervision of the teacher or school principal.

Starting pay rate for Aides

$18.90/hour

Hourly Stipends

• Split aide (assigned to both general education & PPS aide duties); UPK aide; Literacy aide; Primary Project aide; Health aide; Attendance aide - $0.50/hour
• Job coach aide - $1.50/hour
