About the role

The Teacher's Aide position at Bank Street Family Center aims to support a developmentally appropriate, child-centered curriculum that fosters learning through exploration and discovery. The role involves modeling positive social interactions and language, implementing positive class management techniques, and adhering to guidelines set by Bank Street College and the New York City Department of Health / Bureau of Day Care.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Provide close supervision of children during all activities
  • Assist in preparing materials and maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment
  • Attend required trainings and professional development workshops
  • Work cooperatively with other teachers, therapists, and administrators
  • Ensure compliance with Bank Street College and NYC Department of Health/Bureau of Day Care guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director

Qualifications

  • At least 19 years old and hold a high school diploma or GED
  • Some college coursework in early childhood education is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
