Teacher - Adult Basic Education English Language (Monticello)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to adult students in an Adult EL program.
• Develop essential workplace vocabulary and communication skills for students.
• Teach practical job skills while improving English proficiency in a professional context.
• Assess students, return student phone calls, monitor attendance, and complete necessary record keeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid MN teaching license for teaching English as a Second Language, or equivalent qualifications.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in English as a second language, applied linguistics, or bilingual education.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Flexibility and ability to function well in a busy environment.
• Team player.
• Computer experience and comfort with Internet, email, and Google apps.
• Physical presence in the building/onsite required.

Qualifications

• Current MN Teaching License required.
• Previous experience teaching within an adult basic education program preferred.
• Experience providing online instruction preferred.
• Experience working with diverse populations preferred.

Benefits

Up to 40 paid professional development hours annually.

Pay

$28.88 per hour

Schedule

Mondays and Fridays from 1:45 PM- 3:15 PM, including one hour of prep per class.
