The ELCD program at OHU is known for its closely-knit teams who often work together for years at a time! Team members share a love of educating young children, creating a warm and positive working environment. New employees who come from a corporate environment quickly fall in love with the atmosphere at an OHU child development center.
Responsibilities
- Provide a nurturing setting for our students (and their parents!)
- Teach in a variety of classrooms as a floater teacher
- Arrange classrooms into learning centers that reflect children’s interests and encourage independent use
- Partner with co-teachers to develop and implement best practices
- Create a warm and welcoming environment
- Encourage students to engage, discover, and learn to solve problems
- Collaborate with parents and families on an ongoing basis

Requirements
- One of the following:
- CDA (Child Development Associate credential)
- Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education
- Associate’s degree in a related field with six (6) credits in ECE
- One year of professional experience working with children in childcare or school setting (preferred)
