About the role

This position reports to the Dir III, Mgr Civil/Structural Engineering Branch. Duties include direct contact with Architects, Engineers, Engineering Specialists, and Drafting Techs to draft comprehensive plans for projects requiring Architecture or Engineering expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Draft comprehensive plans for projects requiring Architecture or Engineering expertise using AutoCAD software
  • Accomplish field assignments to collect measurements and other data to develop drawings from your own notes and sketches
  • Review and check the work of others

Requirements

  • Five years full-time, wage-earning experience in civil drafting and computer-aided design (CAD) drafting using AutoCAD software
  • Construction experience in electrical, mechanical, architecture, civil, and/or structural fields (preferred)
  • Ability to remain focused and not easily distracted
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship or financial assistance
  • Outside applicants will be required to submit to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment

Additional Information

  • No travel required; position may make day trips, but no overnight trips
  • No work site visits or study material required
  • No pre-service training academy required
  • Not a hazardous duty or longevity position
