TCP Permit Specialist

Remote position within the USA focused on permit application processing and traffic control plan design. We seek a creative, collaborative drafter eager to learn traffic control design. AutoCAD experience is preferred, but we are willing to train candidates with basic AutoCAD skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform research to determine proper traffic control plans for each unique project.
• Analyze current designs and make modifications to facilitate customer needs.
• Prepare and maintain new or replacement business permit drawings.
• Research and map databases using Google Earth, GIS, County Maps, etc.
• Process permit applications using engineers' provided work prints and descriptions.
• Design traffic control plans based on engineers' proposed work and municipal requirements.

Qualifications

• AutoCAD experience is strongly desired.
• Public Works and Civil drafting experience preferred.
• Familiarity with reading civil plans and blueprints.
• Telecom drafting experience is a plus.
• Thorough understanding/experience in the Outside Plant telecom industry, public right-of-way, private easements, and existing utilities (water, sewer, electric, gas, etc.).
• Knowledge of city, county, state, and local municipal encroachment permits, traffic control, specialty permits, easements, and environmental permits.
• Ability to interact with local municipalities, telecom engineers, and construction/maintenance personnel to acquire OSP records, ICGS, assessor maps, AIS, and construction prints.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, base-mapping, GIS, and layering.
• Fundamental knowledge of Outside Plant, conduit and cable design for copper, fiber optics, manholes, hand holes, Make-Ready Engineering, and poles (aerial and underground).
• AA Degree or Technical Degree (or higher) in Drafting, GIS, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience (desired).
• Two years of AutoCAD experience (desired).
• Requires passing a background check.

Physical Requirements

• Viewing a computer screen for extended periods of time.
• Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Sitting for long periods of time.

Pay

$20.00 to $26.00 per hour, depending on experience.
