Qualifications And Requirements

  • An appropriate New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) as deemed necessary by https://www.nj.gov/education/certification/certsandtitles/
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (preferred), unless otherwise specified by the New Jersey Department of Education.

Basic Functions And Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging curriculum and lesson plans for Audio and Visual Broadcast Technology
  • Teach students audio and video production techniques, including camera operation, sound design, editing, and live broadcasting
  • Operate and maintain broadcast equipment, including cameras, microphones, and editing software
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local media professionals and organizations to provide students with industry insights and opportunities
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies, incorporating innovative techniques and software into the curriculum
  • Mentor and supervise students in school productions and special events
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate broadcast technology and content into other subjects, such as journalism, marketing, and digital media
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor

  • Principal

PAY, EMPLOYMENT PERIOD, AND UNION AFFILIATION

  • Salary: $70,000 - $110,000
  • Employment Period: Ten (10) Months
  • Union Affiliation: Newark Teachers Union (NTU)
