About the Role

Withum's Valuation Consulting Services team assists companies with business valuations, M&A transactions, financial reporting, economic analysis, fairness opinions, risk management, and other strategic advisory services. As our advisory practice continues to expand, including new outsourced accounting and finance solutions, we are seeking high-performing students interested in valuation, corporate finance, and transaction advisory.

Internship Details

  • Dates: January 25th, 2027 to April 16th, 2027 with possibility of extension
  • Location: Boston Seaport, Rochester or Philadelphia
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, in-person. Interns are expected to work during core business hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of business valuation analyses for mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, tax, and advisory purposes.
  • Support valuation engagements involving privately held companies, intangible assets, and transaction-related analyses.
  • Complete financial statement and operating data analysis using Excel-based valuation models.
  • Conduct industry, market, economic, and company-specific research.
  • Assist with financial modeling, data analysis, and valuation assessments.
  • Participate in client meetings and internal discussions related to valuation and advisory engagements.
  • Collaborate with professionals across Valuation Consulting, Transaction Advisory, and Outsourced Accounting Advisory teams.
  • Prepare sections of valuation reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
  • Participate in training sessions, professional development programs, and networking opportunities.
  • Support business development initiatives and relationship-building activities.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Quantitative Finance, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Financial Engineering, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related discipline. MSA, Master of Finance, MBA, and similar graduate programs are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum 3.7 GPA required.
  • Previous internship or relevant experience in valuation, investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate finance, consulting, or financial services preferred.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and financial modeling.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills with the ability to excel in client-facing environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and professional presence through academic, extracurricular, or work experience.
  • Candidates should be prepared to complete a finance and valuation case study during the interview process.

Pay

  • The compensation for this position ranges from $25 to $30 an hour. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
