About the role
This role focuses on managing complex tax engagements for professional services clients, as well as high net worth individuals, families, and related entities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering proactive tax planning and advisory services.
- Provide tailored guidance for S-Corps, high-net-worth individuals, trusts and estates, partnerships, and pass-through entities.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of service, responsiveness, and satisfaction.
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and develop strategic planning initiatives across clients’ personal and business interests.
- Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns, including 1040 (individual), 1041 (trusts and estates), 1065 and 1065-S (partnerships and S corporations), and 709 (gift tax).
- Oversee tax filings for related entities such as management companies, holding companies, and investment partnerships.
- Handle foreign-related tax matters and filings as applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university required.
- Active CPA license or EA certification required.
- MST, JD, or LLM in Taxation a plus.
- 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting required.
- Strong technical knowledge of individual, partnership, s-corporation, trusts, gift taxation and investment partnerships.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and tax research platforms (e.g., CCH, BNA, RIA).
- Knowledge of CCH Axcess preferred.
- Experience with multi-entity and multi-state taxation issues.
- Prominent leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and mentor team members.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with executive presence.
- Performing, documenting, summarizing, and reviewing research conclusions regarding specific tax issues.
