Tax Staff - Public

Responsibilities

• Prepare and examine tax returns for individual, corporate, pass-through, and trust clients while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and completeness.
• Research tax rules and interpret guidance to address client questions, resolve filing issues, and support sound planning recommendations.
• Partner with colleagues in tax, accounting, and financial advisory functions to deliver well-rounded solutions tailored to client goals.
• Build strong client relationships through timely communication, dependable follow-through, and a consultative approach to service.
• Recognize opportunities to provide additional tax and advisory support that aligns with client needs and broader firm growth objectives.
• Keep current with federal, state, and multi-state tax developments and apply new guidance effectively in client work.
• Contribute to internal learning, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing efforts that strengthen team capability and consistency.
• Manage multiple engagements and deadlines efficiently while balancing quality, responsiveness, and client expectations.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of progressive experience in public accounting with a focus on tax preparation and related client service.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related discipline is strongly preferred.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent credential, or active progress toward obtaining one, is preferred.
• Familiarity with federal and state tax regulations, with exposure to multi-state matters preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax topics clearly to clients and colleagues.
• Experience using tax software, including CCH ProSystem or similar platforms, is preferred.
• Prioritize, manage deadlines, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
