Tax Staff - Public

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal, state, and local tax filings for individual clients and business entities while ensuring compliance with current regulations.
• Review financial records and supporting documentation to produce accurate tax workpapers and completed returns.
• Aid in the preparation of corporate tax documents and assist in resolving discrepancies before filing deadlines.
• Utilize QuickBooks and related accounting tools to organize client financial information and support tax reporting activities.
• Communicate with clients to gather missing details, clarify financial data, and keep engagements moving efficiently.
• Support senior tax team members with research, calculations, and follow-up items related to public accounting tax work.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in public accounting or tax preparation work.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare individual tax returns accurately and efficiently.
• Experience handling corporate tax returns and related supporting schedules.
• Practical knowledge of tax preparation processes, documentation standards, and filing deadlines.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks for maintaining and reviewing financial records.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience preparing returns, working with financial records, and using accounting software to maintain organized and reliable tax data.

Skills
