About the role

The Tax Senior Accountant role is part of the US Firms Tax ("USFT") team within Deloitte Services LP. The USFT team is responsible for setting tax policy for Deloitte US Firms and managing compliance across domestic and foreign entities.

Responsibilities

  • Review targeted income calculations and other partner-level income allocations
  • Review the allocation of state law adjustments
  • Review federal and state partnership K-1s
  • Onboard, manage, and retain staff
  • Aid in transforming people, processes, and technology
  • Produce and distribute annual partner Forms K-1 packages
  • Prepare allocations of items for 199A, 163(j), and Form K-3 reporting
  • Assist with preparing federal, state, and local income tax returns
  • Cook up and coordinate federal withholding information returns
  • Prepare and review selected general ledger accounts monthly
  • Manage the annual partner state tax elections process
  • Assist with partner questions regarding federal or state or local tax matters
  • Perform tax research as necessary
  • Make recommendations on business and process improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Taxation
  • Eligible for CPA, Enrolled Agent, or other relevant certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a professional services firm
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state partnership tax compliance
  • Prior experience supervising tax professionals
  • Tax forecasting / planning experience
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Ability to travel 0-15% based on the work done and client/industry sectors served
