Tax Senior Manager| Real Estate

About the role

As a Subject Matter Expert within the business unit, you will share knowledge, make recommendations on internal department procedures, and recognize business opportunities for clients and CBIZ. You will serve as a trusted advisor, identifying client issues and conflicts while proactively communicating solution options. This role involves significant client responsibility, including managing engagement deliverables, completing technical and strategic reviews, and ensuring quality control standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Assume significant client responsibility as a trusted advisor, relied upon for knowledge of industry trends and client issues.
• Manage staff on engagement deliverables (e.g., financial statements, tax returns, work papers) and complete technical and strategic reviews as part of the final engagement review team.
• Develop new client relationships in partnership with upper management; participate in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development.
• Responsible for billing, realization, and overall engagement budgeting; explain variances.
• Understand and address client's Qualified Plan needs (as applicable).
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff; conduct performance feedback and evaluations.
• Drive a positive team environment, demonstrating support of management decisions and fostering a collaborative culture.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8 years of experience in public accounting or a related field.
• 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Active CPA or equivalent certification.
• Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements, deadlines, and multiple assignments while prioritizing effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing across all levels of an organization, both internally and externally.
• Proficient use of applicable technology.
• Ability to travel based on business needs.
