Job Duties

  • Serve as a Career Advisor, mentor or coach to one or more employees, which will include providing honest and timely performance feedback
  • Drive growth and profitability of industry/specialty area by generating new revenue on existing client portfolio, cross selling and new clients for the tax practice
  • Interact directly with clients handling questions, planning, consulting, etc.
  • Train and develop staff members
  • Lead and manage the business relationship of complex engagements with a focus on high-value quality tax advice and seek to expand services to clients
  • Serving as Tax client service coordinator while developing and executing the firm’s client service plan
  • Reviewing research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards
  • Build relationships across lines of business to ensure excellent client service through an integrated service approach
  • Manage corporate client needs with respect to tax services and federal and state tax compliance
  • Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA, JD, LLM, or EA
  • 8 or more years of public accounting experience working with C Corp clients or equivalent in law firms or industry
  • Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740
  • A proven record of simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients
  • Must be able to support financial growth efforts and manage a book of business
  • Ability to generate new business and extend service opportunities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in dealing with international tax matters
  • Fluent in French, German, Japanese, or Mandarin to include but not limited to speaking, writing and reading with a deep understanding of the culture and business practices within country of fluency
  • Proven track record of managing relationships with large non US companies with significant operations in North America

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range. Compensation Range: $126,100 - $253,000

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
