Responsibilities
- Provides advanced technical oversight across multiple tax engagements and client relationships.
- Performs high-level and quality reviews of complex tax returns and related workpapers, as assigned.
- Advises clients and engagement teams on complex tax planning, compliance, and issue-resolution matters.
- Serves as a technical and escalation resource to Managers and engagement teams on complex or high-risk tax issues.
- Ensures consistency, quality, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and Firm standards across assigned client portfolios.
- Oversees Managers and engagement teams, providing guidance on complex engagement, client, staffing, and resource matters.
- Serves as the primary escalation point for high-risk, complex, or sensitive engagement and client issues.
- Performs quality-level and risk-focused reviews of engagement deliverables, as assigned.
- Actively develops Managers through feedback and performance guidance.
- Maintains significant client relationships and supports long-term client satisfaction and retention.
- Assists with billing and realization activities for assigned clients.
- Supports the development and growth of managers through coaching, feedback, and delegation of complex assignments.
- Participates in proposals, practice development, and marketing activities, as appropriate.
- Participates as needed in administrative activities of the Firm.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of public accounting experience preferred.
- CPA designation presumptively mandatory, but alternative credentials and experience considered.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- PREFERRED: Preferred experience in firm-supported software applications.
- Strong leadership, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and develop Managers and engagement teams.
- Visible involvement in business, professional, or niche communities.
- Willingness to remain current through continuing professional education and ongoing professional development.
