We are a well-established, highly profitable regional CPA firm seeking an experienced Tax Senior with Estate and Trust Tax expertise to join our growing tax practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for a public accounting professional who enjoys working on complex fiduciary tax engagements while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns with an emphasis on:
    • Estates
    • Trusts
    • Fiduciary entities
    • High-net-worth individuals
  • Assist with tax planning strategies for estate, trust, and individual clients.
  • Conduct technical tax research and resolve complex tax issues.
  • Prepare responses to tax notices and assist with governmental tax examinations.
  • Deliver exceptional client service while managing multiple engagements and meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborate with managers and partners on complex tax matters and planning opportunities.
  • Review work prepared by junior staff and provide constructive feedback.
  • Mentor and train staff accountants while supporting their professional development.
  • Stay current on tax legislation and regulations affecting estate, trust, and fiduciary taxation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of progressive public accounting tax experience.
  • Required experience preparing estate and trust (fiduciary) tax returns.
  • Experience with high-net-worth individual tax returns is a plus.
  • CPA license preferred (or progress toward CPA certification is a plus).
  • Previous experience reviewing staff work or mentoring junior accountants preferred.
  • Strong technical tax research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and client service abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
