Job Summary

The Senior Tax Associate leads preparation of complex tax returns and supports tax planning and advisory engagements while supervising and mentoring junior team members. This role serves as a key technical resource, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of tax services in accordance with firm standards.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and business entities
  • Supervise, review, and provide guidance to Tax Associates and Interns
  • Perform advanced tax research and summarize conclusions and recommendations
  • Aid with tax planning, projections, and client advisory matters
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding tax information requests and issues
  • Support training and development initiatives within the tax practice

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field
  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA licensure
  • Strong knowledge of federal income tax and related compliance requirements
  • Experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Public accounting experience with multi-entity or complex client structures
  • Experience with tax planning or specialized tax areas

Physical & Cognitive Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to analyze complex tax matters, exercise professional judgment, and manage multiple priorities

Work Environment

  • On-Site Limited travel, if any
  • Moderate noise level typical of a professional office environment
