Tax Senior Associate
About the Role
A typical day as a Tax Senior Associate includes preparing individual, business, and other types of tax returns for clients across various entities and industries. You will collaborate with the tax team to manage the tax process, including tax planning, client interaction, and special tax projects. The role involves gathering tax-related information from clients, analyzing tax situations to maximize benefits, developing and communicating solutions, and preparing accounting reports in a paperless environment. Additionally, you will mentor lower-level employees, attend training seminars, and participate in professional development and networking events.
Responsibilities
- Prepare individual, business, and other tax returns for diverse clients.
- Work with the tax team on tax planning, client interactions, and special projects.
- Gather relevant tax-related information from clients to ensure accurate returns.
- Analyze tax situations from multiple angles to apply maximum tax benefits.
- Develop and communicate tax solutions to the engagement team and clients.
- Prepare accounting-related reports in a paperless office environment.
- Train and mentor lower-level employees in the tax department.
- Attend training seminars, professional development, and networking events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Active CPA license or working toward obtaining one; Enrolled Agent (EA) certification also accepted.
- 2-4 years of tax experience within public accounting.
- Well-rounded knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on changing tax industry regulations and policies.
- Self-starter who enjoys working independently and in a team environment.
- Able to focus on complex tasks and quickly understand comprehensive compliance processes.
- Authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.
