Tax Senior Associate

Location: Dubuque, IA — Work Arrangement: In‑office or Hybrid

Typical Day in the Life

• Prepare a high‑level return for a multi‑million‑dollar business or high net‑worth individual.
• Work with the tax team to ensure all components of the tax process are performed, including tax planning, client interaction, and special tax projects.
• Gather relevant tax‑related information from the client so an accurate tax return can be prepared.
• Examine tax situations from various angles to ensure the maximum tax benefit is applied.
• Develop solutions and communicate those solutions to the engagement team and client.
• Prepare accounting‑related reports through a paperless office environment.
• Train and mentor lower‑level employees in the tax department.
• Attend training seminars, professional development, and networking events.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Active CPA license or working toward obtaining a CPA license (preferred); Enrolled Agent (EA) certification also accepted.
• 2–4 years of tax experience within public accounting.
• Well‑rounded knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations.
• Actively stay up‑to‑date on the ever‑changing tax industry’s regulations and policies.
• Self‑starter who enjoys working independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to focus on complex tasks and quickly understand the firm’s comprehensive compliance processes.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.
