About the role
Polston Tax Resolution & Accounting is seeking an Enrolled Agent with at least one year's experience negotiating tax resolutions with the state and/or IRS. The ideal candidate enjoys connecting with people, excels at being detail-oriented, and possesses excellent time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Support the creative process in solving tax cases and managing an assigned caseload.
- Review detailed financial analyses of clients' income, expenses, and assets to determine and/or confirm qualified resolution options.
- Research and develop strategies to defend clients’ positions while considering their specific goals.
- Negotiate tax resolutions on behalf of clients with the state and/or IRS government entities via phone or in person.
- Communicate with clients via email, phone, video calls, and mail regarding case updates and expectations.
- Prioritize and manage caseload and assignments.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Enrolled Agent, active status.
- Minimum of one year’s experience negotiating tax resolutions with the state and/or IRS.
- A positive attitude and customer service mindset with a strong work ethic.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills with great follow-up.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- The capacity to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- The capability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with a lot of client interaction and receiving enjoyment from problem-solving and working through issues with clients and team members.
- Adaptable and a team player when priorities shift or unexpected challenges arise.
