Tax Professional/Wealth Advisor
About the role
We're seeking a highly motivated CPA to join our team as a Tax Professional & Wealth Advisor. In this dual role, you will leverage your deep tax expertise to provide proactive, tax-efficient strategies while serving in a comprehensive advisory capacity for our clients. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced tax professional to bridge the gap between tax compliance, tax strategy, and overarching financial goals. While your initial focus will heavily involve hands-on tax preparation, you will be on a clear path to becoming a Lead Wealth Advisor. Over time, you will take ownership of client relationships—supported by a dedicated financial planner—and work closely with our investment team to deliver holistic advice. For a driven individual eager to prove their capabilities, this position offers a clear runway for career progression, the opportunity to eventually take on a guiding leadership role within our tax operations, and a long-term track toward becoming a partner in the firm.
Responsibilities
- Take an immediate, hands-on role in the preparation and review of individual, trust, and potentially business tax returns for THOR advisory clients during tax season.
- Grow into the primary lead for client relationships, working in tandem with a financial planner to deliver comprehensive wealth and estate advice.
- Partner with our dedicated investment team to ensure clients' portfolios are aligned with their tax strategies and broader financial goals.
- Lead proactive tax planning efforts, ensuring tax-efficient solutions are seamlessly woven into clients' overall wealth plans (e.g., tax-loss harvesting, Roth conversions, charitable giving strategies).
- Model complex tax scenarios and conduct year-end tax planning to minimize liabilities and optimize long-term wealth transfer.
- Translate complex tax and financial concepts into clear, actionable advice, building deep trust and year-round relationships with clients.
Required qualifications
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation.

- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage rigorous tax compliance while focusing on big-picture financial planning.
Preferred qualifications
- CFP® designation, Series 65 license, or a willingness to obtain them.
- Prior experience in wealth management, financial planning, or a family office environment.
- Familiarity with Intuit ProSeries (our primary tax software) and financial planning tools (e.g., RightCapital).
