Tax Manager, Real Estate

Responsibilities
- Manage and review federal, state, and local tax compliance for real estate clients, including partnerships, corporations, LLCs, and REITs.
- Lead complex real estate tax engagements covering partnership allocations, 704(b) and 704(c), 754 elections, opportunity zones, like-kind exchanges (1031), and cost segregation considerations.
- Oversee and review partnership tax returns (Forms 1065), K-1s, and related supporting schedules.
- Identify and research complex tax issues; prepare technical memoranda and provide recommendations to clients and internal teams.
- Advise clients on tax planning opportunities, entity structuring, acquisition/disposition strategies, and real estate-specific tax implications.
- Manage engagement budgeting, scheduling, and workflow to ensure timely delivery of high-quality work.
- Mentor, train, and supervise junior team members, and provide performance feedback and support career development.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA required.
- Experience: 5+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting, with a strong focus on real estate.
- Deep knowledge of real estate tax concepts, partnership taxation, and related regulations.
- Experience managing multiple engagements and leading teams.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and client-service abilities.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation
Competitive annual salary in the range of $140,000 to $180,000 based on individual’s experience level. Anchin provides comprehensive benefits.
