Tax Manager - Public

Nick Corieri from Robert Half is looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join a small public accounting team in Syracuse, New York. This role will lead a broad range of tax engagements, support clients with complex compliance needs, and provide practical guidance on business tax matters. The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality client service. Responsibilities:• Oversee the preparation and review of annual income tax provisions to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable standards.• Manage corporate tax return engagements from planning through final filing, resolving technical issues and maintaining quality across deliverables.• Administer sales tax reporting and compliance activities, including reviewing calculations, filings, and related documentation.• Advise clients on entity formation considerations, helping structure businesses in alignment with tax and operational objectives.• Supervise bookkeeping-related tax support activities to promote complete and reliable financial information for reporting purposes.• Serve as a key point of contact for clients, answering tax questions, identifying planning opportunities, and communicating deadlines clearly.• Mentor entry-level team members through review feedback, training, and day-to-day guidance on tax processes and best practices.
