About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our Professional Services group. This role requires strong technical tax expertise, excellent analytical capabilities, and the ability to lead engagements and collaborate closely with partners and clients on complex transactions.

  • Manage and review federal, state, and local tax compliance for C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, and individuals (Forms 1120, 1120-S, 1065, 1040).
  • Provide guidance on complex technical tax issues and prepare high-quality memoranda, analyses, and planning recommendations.
  • Collaborate with partners and directors on client deliverables and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and risks and advise clients accordingly.
  • Oversee responses to IRS and state tax notices and assist with audit defense as needed.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff and senior-level team members.
  • Manage multiple client projects simultaneously and ensure a timely, high-quality work product.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across diverse industries.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university required.
  • Active CPA license required. MST, JD, or LLM in Taxation a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience, with a strong focus on servicing professional services clients.
  • Experience supporting M&A transactions, including due diligence and tax structuring a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in tax research and planning.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and tax research platforms (e.g., CCH, BNA, RIA).
  • Knowledge of ProSystems FX preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and mentor team members.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with executive presence.
  • Performing, documenting, summarizing, and reviewing research conclusions regarding specific tax issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and contribute to firm growth.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $100,000 - $135,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications.
