Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or law degree required5+ years of SALT experience in public accounting, with a focus on state income & franchise tax compliance, consulting, and controversyProven experience managing, mentoring, and developing staffStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skillsDemonstrated ability to identify advisory/consulting opportunitiesClient-centric mindsetStrong presentation skillsProficiency in CCH or comparable tax softwareIndirect tax experience a plusAbility to travel up to 10% Responsibilities Serve as a client-facing leader within HBK's SALT Center of Excellence Advisory PracticeDeliver proactive, high-quality compliance, consulting, and controversy servicesReview income and franchise tax returns and provide feedback to relevant team membersTrain and develop team members on income and franchise tax mattersPartner with Partners, Directors, and Senior Managers to identify and pursue advisory opportunitiesEnsure client and team satisfaction through clear communication, deadline management, and proactive tax-saving strategiesSupervise and mentor associates and senior associates on engagement responsibilities and deadlinesSupport domestic and international team growth as business needs evolveDevelop and deliver subject-matter presentations and assist with proposalsTravel to client and internal meetings as needed (~10%)Build new client relationships and expand business with existing clientsStay current on legislative and regulatory changes and advise clients on implicationsEngage in business development through networking and community representationUphold the Firm's culture, values, and client service principlesModel strong communication, judgment, and leadership to inspire the same in others Benefits We Offer Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000/year + Annual Bonus The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate.
