Tax Manager - CPA - HYBRID

About the role

We are seeking a strategic and technically proficient Tax Manager to lead our tax department. This role is designed for a "player-coach" who can oversee complex tax compliance, drive high-level tax planning initiatives, and mentor a professional team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and final review of complex federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals.
• Identify and implement sophisticated tax-saving strategies while ensuring full compliance with ever-changing legislative requirements.
• Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of tax professionals, providing regular performance feedback and technical guidance.
• Act as a key consultant for internal leadership or external clients on technical tax matters, including M&A due diligence and international tax implications.
• Maintain the firm's tax risk profile by ensuring accurate tax accounting (ASC 740) and timely filings across all jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's in Taxation (MST) is highly preferred.
• Active CPA license is required.
• 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, statutory accounting, and multi-state tax regulations.
• Ability to distill complex tax concepts into actionable business advice for non-tax stakeholders.

Pay & schedule

Location: Hamilton, OH (Hybrid). Salary: $110K–$160K base + bonus + stock options.
