About the role

The Tax Manager position requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership, communication, and technical skills. As a key member of our team, you will foster a collaborative environment, promote positivity, and uphold high standards of professionalism within the firm. You will manage tax-related matters, including identifying and addressing cybersecurity threats, cultivating client relationships, and providing strategic guidance. Additionally, you will supervise tax return preparation, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development efforts.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and seniors, provide constructive feedback to the team, and evaluate progress while offering guidance.
• Demonstrate expertise in specialized knowledge in a particular tax field.
• Provide high-quality tax planning for clients that involves all their business needs.
• Present oneself professionally and uphold high communication standards within the firm.
• Take ownership of actions and continuously expand expertise in tax-related matters.
• Cultivate relationships with clients, provide timely responses to inquiries, and engage in discussions around clients' strategic and operational effectiveness.
• Supervise tax return preparation and ensure quality and accuracy before finalization.
• Provide leadership by developing junior staff, managing workloads effectively, and ensuring timely and profitable completion of engagements.
• Initiate and develop relationships with prospective clients, understand market competitiveness, and identify opportunities for cross-selling services.
• Participate in external networking groups to expand the firm's reach and visibility.

Requirements

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Active CPA or EA license with a minimum of 5 years of tax compliance experience.
• Experience working in a professional office is preferred but not required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
• Ability to work overtime during certain seasonal periods.
