Tax Manager

We are seeking a Tax Manager for high-net-worth individual and corporate tax planning and preparation in an individual contributor role. This position focuses on hands-on tax and accounting work and does not include review or sign-off responsibility for tax returns. The role also contributes to general accounting functions and financial statement preparation. Primary responsibilities:Prepare client financial statements.Prepare and analyze profit allocations for multi-owner clients.Handle tax client onboarding.Prepare designated tax returns for corporations, partnerships, individuals, and trusts, and coordinate foreign tax filings.Manage client relationships (including leading meetings and correspondence).Lead semi-annual client meetings focused on financial review and tax planning.Prepare materials for client meetings and complete any resulting follow-up work.Support and execute client strategic planning activities.Prepare and model client tax projections for estimated tax payments and future tax liabilities.Address and help resolve tax notices.Assist with government audits, including gathering and preparing supporting documentation.Monitor and manage assigned accounts to ensure work is completed on schedule with the client’s internal Service Team.Research and respond to client accounting and tax questions.Stay current on new tax laws and help prepare internal educational materials.Other duties as assigned. Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; master’s degree in accounting/finance or MBA is a plus.4+ years of successful CPA firm experience with business tax (corporation, partnership, individual, trust).Active IRS Enrolled Agent or CPA licensure.Knowledge of California tax laws is preferred.Comprehensive technical tax and accounting knowledge relating to current business, state, and federal tax codes.Ability to research and develop solution options for complex tax issues.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to clearly explain complex issues to clients.
