About The Role

Our Tax team helps businesses and individuals navigate complex tax regulations with clarity and confidence, combining deep technical knowledge with the personalized attention our clients rely on. As a Tax Manager, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality tax compliance and consulting services, lead and develop a team of staff and seniors, and play a meaningful role in strengthening client relationships and contributing to the growth of the tax department.
What You Will Do
- Manage the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
- Supervise and mentor staff and senior accountants, providing guidance on technical issues, workflow management, and professional development.
- Conduct and review complex tax research and analysis; communicate findings and recommendations clearly to clients and partners.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and develop strategies to minimize client tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
- Monitor engagement budgets, billing, and realization; assist with proposal development and client onboarding as needed.
- Review work papers and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to firm and regulatory standards.
- Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations and contribute to the development of firm best practices.
What We Are Looking For
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field with an accounting emphasis
- Experience: Four or more years of tax experience at a CPA firm; active CPA license required
- Technology: Experience with Thomson Reuters Checkpoint, CCH ProSystem FX, and similar tax and practice management platforms
- Skills: Strong leadership, technical judgment, client relationship management, and clear communication
What To Expect
- This role targets between 1,500 and 1,650 chargeable hours annually.
- Tax has two busy seasons, with weekly hours expected to reach 55 during peak periods.
- You will lead engagements across a wide range of client types and industries.
