About the role

Join our dynamic and diverse community of Public Accounting professionals where you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, provide mentorship and guidance to junior employees, and manage engagements with meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a keen understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and apply them appropriately in daily work.
• Create and preserve positive client relationships and trust by communicating effectively with Firm Leadership and ensuring timely completion of work.
• Show a sense of urgency and attention to detail in completing work to meet deadlines and client expectations.
• Identify potential issues and present solutions for complex client issues and problems.
• Manage multiple client profiles, employee development, and additional firm responsibilities while maintaining client expectations and meeting deadlines within established budgets.
• Review workpapers of Associates and Supervisors and provide comments for correction or adjustments.
• Ensure that all review comments are successfully addressed and cleared.
• Share in the responsibility of keeping YHB employees up to date on key changes regarding Tax standards, laws, and regulations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Associates and Supervisors within your Leadership Circle and YHB Office by sharing valuable insight and best practices.
• Develop and possess a thorough understanding of tax accounting fundamentals; demonstrate strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Display good judgement by identifying potential issues and elevating them to superiors early in the engagement process, along with recommended potential solutions.
• Strive to complete engagements timely, within budget, and with acceptable realization.
• Expand peer/professional networks, become involved in leadership roles, and participate in YHB marketing activities.
• Represent YHB publicly by accepting speaking opportunities, authoring articles for industry literature, and participating in YHB newsletters.
• Manage circle employee growth by preparing personal development plans, evaluating team member performance, and coordinating efforts with other team members and peers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant field required.
• CPA Certification.
• A high level of integrity and ability to respect confidentiality.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledgeable of firm policies and procedures.
• Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
• Demonstrated time and work management skills necessary to manage a complex workload.
